Making Fun of Mumblecore (Because It Deserves It)

posted by The Joe

I just read THIS New York Times article about the second-wave of mumblecore, a genre I was really hoping would kind of be dead by now. It features films such as In Search of a Midnight Kiss and Medicine for Melancholy, which I guess aren’t as bad as Funny Ha Ha, but still aren’t very good.

Blah blah blah, complain. One day, the hipster subculture will die down to the point where no-budget, handheld, improv video films will focus on something else, but until then, here’s the trailer for Wallace Cotten’s spot-on mumblecore parody Nothing But Everything.

I laughed.
