Tay Zonday + The Show is the Rainbow at Uptown Bar

One of the perks of knowing people that book bands is you get to find out when rad shows are happening before anyone else. Today I got a text message from a friend that is the booker at the Uptown Bar that simply read “Tay zonday (chocolate rain) just confirmed at the Uptown for february 2nd.”
That’s right. Minneapolis’ own internet phenomenon and Dr. Pepper commercial star Tay Zonday will be making his Uptown Bar debut next month. Joining him will be laptop rockers The Show is the Rainbow as well as local artists Mel Gibson & The Pants and Mystery Palace. Zonday and The Show is the Rainbow previously shared a stage last October when they both opened for Girl Talk and Dan Deacon at First Avenue.
The Uptown is a pretty small venue so expect this to sell out. As far as I know there are no advanced tickets available so showing up early would be a good idea.
