The Swell Season are embarking on a tour in support of the Motion Picture soundtrack to the film ONCE, and will perform live in concert at the Orpheum Theatre on May 7, 2008. The Swell Season is led by Irish singer Glen Hansard (of the band The Frames) and Czech newcomer Marketa Irglova. On the heels of their recent Grammy nominations for Best Song for a Motion Picture and Best Compilation Soundtrack, the duo just won an Academy Award for their Oscar nominated song, “Falling Slowly”. That song was also a recent winner of Best Song at the Critic’s Choice Awards, and the movie picked up the Best Foreign Film award at this year’s Film Independent’s Spirit Awards.
