The Walker’s Women with Vision 2008 Line-Up
posted by The Joe
It’s the 15th anniversary of the Walker Art Center’s Women with Vision film festival, and the highlight this year is a spotlight on Japanese director Naomi Kawase. She’ll be present to introduce The Mourning Forest, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes 2007. The film pairs an elderly man whose dementia confines him to a nursing home and the young nurse who befriends him. Other films of hers being played are Shara and Birth/Mother, with her documentary Sky Wind Fire Water Earth also being played at the University of Minnesota.
