The National’s Upcoming New Film and CD
posted by Mojo Marshall
The National have a new documentary, A Skin, A Night, on the way detailing the creative process behind their incredible 2007 record Boxer. Directed by Vincent Moon, the Frenchman behind the always stellar Take Away Show series. The DVD is due out May 20 from Beggar’s Banquet.
Pitchfork is also reporting that the DVD will come with a new EP, “with an accompanying 12-track bonus CD titled The Virginia EP. The CD, a bit longer than most EPs, contains a number of demos of National favorites, a track from last year’s Daytrotter session, a few live cuts– including their cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Mansion on the Hill”– and assorted B-sides.”
Lastly, old news, but The National will be going on tour with R.E.M. and Modest Mouse. (No Minneapolis date, Chicago is as close as it comes.)
