Take-Up Productions is starting a new five-film series at the Parkway Theater starting July 28, this time focusing on the films of Minnesota-born Richard Widmark.

07.28 - Kiss Of Death - Widmark’s film debut as the giggling killer Tommy Udo. “You know what I do to squealers? I let ‘em have it in the belly, so they can roll around for a long time thinkin’ it over.”

08.04 - Slattery’s Hurricane - Widmark as pilot with a life of ease, flying for drug smugglers and looking the other way until his conscience is tweaked by a woman he has misused.

08.11 - Panic in the Streets - Widmark plays a doctor in New Orleans with only 48 hours to locate a killer infected with bubonic plague.

08.18 - Yellow Sky - Widmark’s first western, an adaptation of The Tempest. Widmark plays Dude, menacing people with his mirthless smile and insinuating singsong.

08.25 - Don’t Bother to Knock - Widmark is a womanizing heel who talks his way into Marilyn Monroe’s hotel room for a ”date”, only to discover she’s psychotic and there’s no way out.
