False – “The Key of Passing Suffering”

posted by MP Johnson

For a long time, I refused to acknowledge any black metal made outside of scando-land. Then I heard False. Of course, they’re from Minnesota, so it’s not that far off.

“The Key of Passing Suffering” is one of the two songs from their new record. If you’re like me, you see a song with a run time longer than an episode of Ren & Stimpy and you start running. Not this time though. The composition is varied enough, and crushing enough, that it’s truly worth the epic run time. By the end, I found myself on a mountain of corpses, my broadsword soaked in blood, direwolves howling triumphantly by my side.

I have no idea if that’s what the song’s about though.
