Billy Joel is set to be featured in a documentary titled Last Play at Shea that centers around his current performances in Shea Stadium, which is set to be torn down later this year. Traditional doc footage will also be added in concerning both him and the legendary venue. The film will be co-directed by New York Doll helmer Greg Whiteley, and will be produced by the company which also worked on Martin Scorcese’s No Direction Home and Amazing Journey: The Story of the Who.
Expect the film sometime in 2009.
