Air Doll at the 2010 M-SPIFF

posted by The Joe

A whole bunch of films have been announced for the 2010 Minneapolis-St. Paul Film Festival over the last few days, and the one I’m most excited for by far is Air Doll, the new film from Hirokazu Koreeda (Still Walking, Distance, Nobody Knows).

Kore-eda’s film Air Doll is both a charming love story with a philosophical bent that features an inflatable sex doll that suddenly acquires a soul and begins to examine what it means to be truly alive. This film is a story of love and frailty that examines what it means to be human and distills it down to its purest form in this bittersweet parable that deftly blends fantasy and reality.

The 2010 MSPIFF starts April 15, and to see what films are going to be included, check over HERE.
