Adam Yauch to Start Movie Company

Adam Yauch, also known as MCA of the Beastie Boys and director of the concert film Awesome; I F—-n’ Shot That!, is launching Oscilloscope Pictures, a New York-based full-service film distribution company.
”We’re not looking to throw big MGs at films, we’re looking to partner with filmmakers and put smart money into P&A so that we can really share with the backend with the filmmakers and we’re in the same boat together,” Yauch told Variety, adding that the company will employ grassroots and nontraditional methods to spread the word about their films.
The first film is said to hit theaters by this summer, with an official announcement within the month.
