Produced by Ryan Olcott (Mystery Palace, 12 Rods). Minneapolis’ Solid Gold after years of playing together have finally dropped their debut record. Good things come to those who wait. Their unique electronic synth-pop style with dreamy vocals is a little hard to pin down. I put in somewhere between Air and MGMT. The kind of record you can dance to, but more enjoyable as something to put on while mixing drinks at home getting ready to go out on the town. Bodies of Water is one of my favorites records of the year and in my opinion the best release to come out of Minnesota in 2008.
