Harmony Korine’s Trash Humpers inexplicably remains my favorite film of 2010, and it’s nabbed a home video release at the end of September. Here in America, Drag City will release the DVD. However, in the U.K., Warp Films will have a plethora of viewing options, like 150 limited NTSC VHS copies for North America.

Unfortunately, they’re kind of expensive, so someone should probably buy that for me. And even more expensive are the three 35mm prints they’re selling.

Trash Humpers is released in the U.K. on September 20 (over HERE), and in the U.S. on September 21 (over HERE).

Todd Pitman sent us over the info about a “secret” show going down this Saturday night. Headlining is Waxx Maxx, Mark Mallman’s new electro-pop project with Nicole Godiva and Alyssa Brenny. You can hear their first single in the video above or download it below. Also playing the “secret” show is Military Special, Claps, and Meridene. Speaking of Military Special you can download a new track of theirs below too.

The location of the show can be found by scanning the QR barcode found on one of the twelve hidden posters on the West Bank. Or if you are lazy and chained to your computer like me, the venue location may flash faintly at the end of the video above.

Is It Just Me? – Trailer

The writing on SNL may be hit-and-miss, but I still watch it religiously every week when it’s on. The New York Times reported yesterday that after eight seasons Will Forte is leaving SNL to focus on other projects. Bummer.

To promote the new mobile phone, LG dLite, Sophie Gateau, of Paranoid US, directed a playful music video to showcase the phones character-based digital display. The video, via DOJO SF, tells a classic love story to the track, “White” by electropop artist, LIGHTS. The campaign features a website, the video, and other interactive elements.

Tommy Wiseau himself will be on-hand to introduce The Room in Minneapolis at the Uptown Theatre in November.

The Room in 60 Seconds

It’s kind of shocking that the legendary Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts stayed alive long enough to be able to retire from professional wrestling, though he does indeed end his 35-year career now for health reasons. But he is still with us, and the memories of Jake for those of us who followed him throughout the late 80s and early 90s in the WWF will always be wonderful. He’s in that elite class of those who should’ve been crowned champion at one point or another, but for some reason, never was.

So it goes. Who cares? He was one of the best. Farewell, Jake the Snake. Take care of yourself, gosh darn it.

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is Awesome

Occasionally, I come to the conclusion that Douglas Adams’ Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is actually better than the first two books of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Series. And Last Chance to See, which is actually probably his best book. But I digress.

BBC 4 is making an hour-long adaptation of Dirk Gently. That is awesome. Hopefully they don’t fuck it up, but hey, they’re British. I think that gives them a better track record than us solely on principle. Except for that Red Dwarf epilogue, which was totally fucked.

Dirk Gently airs this Fall/Winter.
