Hot Tub Time Machine
posted by Richard GillI’m guessing this will end up sucking but in the meantime, enjoy the trailer for a movie starring John Cusack AND Clark Duke. Clark Duke, motherfuckers! Yes!
Tron Legacy Teaser
posted by The JoeCurrently lying low after a disastrous Comic Con Saturday (which will be elaborated on later). In the meantime, not to be overly dramatic, but holy shit, this is awesome.
Tron Legacy will be released in the future.

Also, THIS song still kicks ass.

The Joe at Comic Con: Day III
posted by The Joe
Day III
9:55 AM – Almost missed waffle time. Catching up on missed news, I see that Twitch posted a video of Tetsuo: Bullet Man. Also, new Daniel Clowes graphic novel in May 2010 titled Wilson.
10:00 AM – It’s ‘Star Wars Day’ here at Comic Con, so I dress as Jake lloyd and start doing television interviews. Impersonating decade-old celebrities deemed . . . NOT REALLY WIN.
11:00 AM – Make it to the WB panel just in time for Gary Oldman’s accidental Batman 3 announcement! It starts shooting in 2010, and the villain is my favorite Batman baddie, Clayface III! Preston Payne deemed WIN!
11:30 AM – Panel for the mini-series remake of The Prisoner. The creators kept trying to explain their new take, but the crowd kept yelling in unison whenever they opened their mouths. Huh.
12:45 PM – Disney panel. Michael Keaton is announced for Toy Story 3, and Disney calls it quits on 2D animation again after realizing that the bar can never be set higher than Treasure Planet.
2:00 PM - Bored at the con once again, I surf the interwebs. Results? THIS, announcing Mark Hamill has been hired on to play an Italian Nazi. Also, new Daft Punk music.
3:00 PM – Marvel announces their acquisition of Marvelman, which is downright amazing. For years, asshole Todd McFarlane and godsend Neil Gaiman have been battling over the rights to this character, and now it’s finally cleared up and on its way. Hopefully those rare Alan Moore issues can get collected. The universe is WIN.
6:00 PM - Forget the new Batman and Pirates of the Caribbean and whatever else . . . Fox Searchlight announces Weekend at Bernies 3?!? Apparently, due to the new zombie craze, there’s a rush to bring Bernie back, this time as the flesh-eating type of zombie as opposed to the old-school WaB 2 variety. My, this certainly puts a dampener on Switchblade Comb’s 20th anniversary panel tomorrow.
6:30 PM – Depressed and defeated, I sulk back to the hotel for more DuckTales. Which is and always will be WIN.
11:00 PM – My, there are a lot of DuckTales episodes. TIme to return to the con to hunt down those legendary jello wrestling room parties.
Dr. Rockso – “Rock N’ Roll Clown”
posted by Richard GillHey kids,
Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I feel bad that I haven’t been posting anything lately but I’ve been busy with… well frankly, not a whole lot. I’ve been watching Masters of Horror on Netlix watch it now and making my way through the 4 volumes of Looney Tunes that I recently got PLUS I still have to find time for my functioning alcoholism so… you can understand why I’ve been slacking. Oh yeah, I’ve also been finalizing the details on THIS kick ass show I’m throwing with my very good friend Emily.
I promise I’ll get better this week. I got some news on The Ghost reunion shows coming up, additional Get Up Kids tour dates, some rad Michael and Michael Have Issues clips and some other assorted bullshit. For now, enjoy some Dr. Rockso and go out and buy the Farewell Continental 7″. I’ve been playing that shit nonstop since I got it in the mail yesterday. It’s dope son, dope!
Peace,
RichmanVA

The Joe at Comic Con: Day II

Day II
3:30 AM – Head off to wait in line for today’s Twilight: New Moon panel. Waffles will have to wait.
4:30 AM – Holy shit, look at that line. Vampires deemed BULLSHIT.
6:00 AM – I must have waffles forthwith! Motel 6 Waffles deemed WIN.
12:15 PM – Lots of crowd, not much excitement. I head off to the Indie Film area where I mistakenly think The Pagemaster, is being screened, only to find it’s actually The Page Turner. However, after a little searching, I nab a bootleg of the Macaulay Culkin classic. The Pagemaster with Cantonese subtitles deemed WIN.
1:00 PM – TETSUOOO! Super-brilliant Japanese director Shinya Tsukamoto is here, talking about his new film, Tetsuo: The Bullet Man. It’s English language, will see release in 2010, and follows an American working in Tokyo who transforms into the Tetsuo cyber-creature when his son Tom is killed by the same guy who creates the Tetsuos in the previous entries. Best news of the con, though it’s the only news I’ve paid attention to.
3:00 PM - Avatar panel! Twenty-five minutes of this revolutionary 3D film is shown, but unfortunately they run out of glasses, so I can’t figure out what the hell is happening. Announcement that fifteen minutes of the film will be shown for free on IMAXs on August 21, though James Cameron says it will be the final fifteen of the film. What a goofy fellow.
4:30 PM – While working out details to Saturday’s Weekend at Bernie’s panel in my head, I accidentally wander into the Halo panel. I overhear news of an anime anthology being made that includes Studio 4°C. Neat, but probably not as neat as THIS.
6:00 PM – Comic Con is boring. Out of things to do, I nab a bootleg DuckTales collection and head back to the hotel, but not before learning that the new Mystery Science Theater 3000 set (coming December 1) will include The Corpse Vanishes, Warrior of the Lost World, Santa Claus, and Night of the Blood Beast. MST3K and DuckTales deemed WIN.
10:00 PM – DuckTales continues to be WIN.
